Tournament Format
All pool matches are three 25-point sets.  All sets are rally scoring with no cap.  There will be a coin toss and a side change
at 13 for all third sets.  The first two matches of the pool will start according to the schedule, after that each match should
begin ten minutes following the previous match.
Service Toss
For Old Dominion Region sanctioned competition in the 14-and-younger age divisions the service tossing error will be used.
One service tossing error is permitted for each service.
If the ball, after having been tossed or released by the serve, lands without touching the player, it is considered a service
tossing error
Playoffs
Playoff matches are 2/3 sets to 25 (all deciding sets will be to 15).  The losing team for each round of playoffs shall be
responsible for providing the work team for the next round of playoffs.  If an excess of teams are subject to this responsibility,
the teams shall be released from work-team assignments on the basis of greatest distance to travel.  If the excess of teams are
from the same area then the last team playing shall be the work team.
Playoff work-team assignments shall not be changed unless the host team volunteers to provide qualified work team personnel.
Teams responsible for work teams shall not be released from assigned matches unless they are specifically advised of their
release by the Tournament Director
Warm Up
Warm-ups for all matches will be two minutes of shared ball handling, four minutes of solo court time for the serving team and
four minutes of  solo court time for the receiving team. (2-4-4). There will be no shared hitting.  Note:  The 10-minute interval between matches (2-4-4) starts when the R1 from the previous match blows the last whistle of the match and signals the teams to shake hands. Work teams are responsible for getting the next match started on time not later than 10 minutes after that last whistle.  If a delay occurs and the captains' meeting ends past the allotted two minutes, the serving team's four minutes begins immediately.
Work Teams for Pool Play
A team’s work assignment should be taken seriously.  Each team is expected to provide one certified First Referee, one
qualified Second Referee and one certified Scorekeeper.  In addition each team will provide two Line Judges and an Assistant
Scorekeeper to operate a visual scoring devise and track Liberos.  A team's coach must be present courtside at all times while
their team members are officiating.  They need to be stationed at the scorer’s table or behind the first referee.
The coach is requested to check over and sign the scoresheet at the end of the match.
Missed Officiating Duties
A team's failure to have an officiating crew (including the coach) available, on time, for a match officiating assignment could
result in the team having to forfeit the first set of its next match.  For every minute an officiating team is late to fulfill its
assignment, one point will be awarded to that team's next opponent for the first set of the next match - up to 25 points.  No
more than 25 points will be awarded to the team's next opponent, even if the team designated to officiate misses the
entire match.  The clock begins to run at the scheduled or adjusted match start time.
